Love is blooming all around <3 Doesn't that make you smile? I am so thankful so have found love at a young age (I met my husband when I was 16). It makes my heart so warm to see people fall in love and to see marriages work. Today I used a few challenges -
Colour Q
The Sweet Stop
Heart 2 Heart
The Colour Q had an interesting color combo - brown, peach, grey, sand-y color and white. This combo was a challenge for me, this was not a combo I would have chosen if making a card without a challenge. That's why I enjoy these challenges - it's all about thinking outside the box. I looked through tons and tons of paper that I own but I couldn't find any peach paper!! So I went through a pastel-y orange that I think worked.
The Heart 2 Heart challenge was using your favorite technique. I have many favories and I used 2 of them today on this card.
1. Watercolor pencils: I own Close To My Heart watercolor pencils along with the blending pen. I stamped the florishes using Staz On (you have to make sure you use this ink when using a blending pen otherwise the stamped image will blur). Out linning just a few of the flowers you 'color' the image using the blending brush and grabbing the color from the outline. For this card I used two colors, an orange and a yellow to kind of add dimension but staying in the same color family. 2. Pop dots: In my opinion, pop dots make everything better! I could have easily cut out the center of the flower (on the bottom right) and just glued it on but I don't think it would have stood out as much. Adding a few dots under the image to adhear it to the paper just makes it pop! Pop dots may not exactly be a technique but they really add something to your craft.

Hi Erin, I love your take on the challenge colors. Thanks for playing with us at the ColourQ this week.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous watercoloring - I love pop dots too! I'm addicted to them but I've been trying to not rely on them as much and see what I can create without them. But you're right, they do really add a bit of "pop" to any creation! :)
